Before you were born, I loved you
Before you were here an hour, I would die for you
This is the miracle of love.
-Maureen Hawkins

The day was gorgeous, and couldn’t have been more perfect. It was a mild 78 degrees, clear and beautiful skies. Inside Mary Birch Hospital, family and friends were anxiously awaiting the arrival of little Savannah Rose. Her mommy labored like a champ, and even though excitement was high, something was missing…daddy was half a world away, trying to get home as fast as the Marines will let him, but still only on middle eastern soil (Savannah couldn’t hold out a few more days…she was ready to meet the world!).

Emotions ran high, but as it came time to welcome Savannah, daddy was never “too far away”, via cell phone speakerphone, he coached mommy on as if right by her side. Thank goodness for modern technology, he was able to hear the excitement in the room and his baby girl cry for the first time.

Congratulations “M” family!! Just a few more days until your reunited as a family! Happy Birthday Savannah Rose, it was a pleasure to meet you!

I enjoy every aspect of it, but being there to see the miracle of life and capture it…it’s breathtaking. Little Collin was born on April 12 (the day before my birthday!), and gave the Dr’s and mommy quite a hard time being born! He wrapped that cord around his neck 2x!! But came out screaming! Isn’t he beautiful?!?!
